Zakat claculator

Islamic Zakat Calculator

Calculate your Zakat correctly according to Islamic principles

Haul Period (Lunar Year)

Islamic Principle: Zakat is only due on wealth owned for a complete lunar year (354 days), known as Haul. Assets must meet the Nisab threshold throughout the year.

If no, Zakat is not due yet, but you can still calculate for planning purposes.

Cash & Monetary Assets

Include only assets held for trading, not long-term investment.
Include only debts you expect to be repaid.

Gold & Silver

Islamic Principle: Gold and silver are subject to Zakat regardless of whether they are used as ornaments or stored as wealth. The Nisab is based on either gold (85g) or silver (595g).

Business Assets

Islamic Principle: Business assets intended for trade are subject to Zakat. Fixed assets used in business operations (buildings, equipment) are exempt.

Investment Properties

Agricultural Produce

Islamic Principle: Agricultural produce is subject to Zakat at harvest time. The rate is 10% for naturally irrigated crops and 5% for artificially irrigated crops. No Haul period required.

Livestock

Islamic Principle: Zakat on livestock follows specific thresholds and rates depending on type and number of animals. Only applies to grazing livestock kept for breeding/dairy, not for trading.

Camels
Zakat due: 1 sheep for 5-9 camels, 2 sheep for 10-14, etc. Complex rates for larger herds.
Cattle
Zakat due: 1 one-year-old for 30-39 cattle, 1 two-year-old for 40-59, etc.
Sheep & Goats
Zakat due: 1 sheep for 40-120 sheep, 2 sheep for 121-200, etc.

Minerals & Buried Treasure

Islamic Principle: Minerals, buried treasure (Rikaz), and extracted resources are subject to 20% Zakat rate. No Haul period or Nisab requirement for buried treasure.

Liabilities & Deductions

Islamic Principle: Debts and essential expenses are deducted before calculating Zakat. Personal use items (home, car, furniture) are exempt.

Include only necessary expenses due before your next income.

Nisab Threshold Basis

Islamic Principle: Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth that makes one liable for Zakat. You can choose either gold or silver as the basis (most scholars recommend using the lower threshold).

Zakat Rate

2.5% is the standard rate for monetary assets. Agricultural and mineral rates are calculated separately.
